The field of psychology can help improve our world because it allows us to see what makes people think a certain way. If we can find what makes a person think negatively then we can help them before their issue becomes more severe. Helping those who truly do need it should be one of our main goals because this will build a better more positive environment for the future. Now relating psychology to the meat industry is complicated because in order to do this there needs to be some evidence of how being inside the factories can actually affect the humans and also animals mentally. People that slaughter the animals can develop some psychological misconceptions. For example, the people that do kill the animals can experience some sort of trauma since their job is basically murdering these animals. So they are witnessing these things first hand and eventually seeing so many animals die is going to leave a negative impact on them. This could also cause lead to some depression issues with the workers. They spend so much of their time murdering animals that were raised on that farm so they can be processed and shipped to a grocery store. Even if they don’t mind doing that for some reason then they are still not in a positive environment and this would limit their happiness and that alone can make them feel more depressed. Now not only can there be trauma for the people but the animals can also feel this mental problem as well. The people will take away the baby animals from their own mothers and this can cause these animals to experience intense trauma from seeing their own kids being taken away from them. A way that people can reduce the trauma and depression that people feel in the factories is to not be so cruel to the animals. When the animals are slaughtered it can be in a very cruel way and if the person doing it doesn’t see that as much then it might reduce the negative mental feelings they are feeling. The field of psychology is so important to humanity because without this study we would not be able to answer certain medical questions. We would still be wondering why a person with a mental illness is like that compared to a person that doesn't experience anything similar. I have learned that there are so many different kinds of behavioral traits and just because someone might be dealing with something mentally doesn't mean that they should be looked down on. Learning what makes a person think a certain way is something that I believe is important and just having more knowledge about this subject is honestly something I might want to study more of while I progress in my education.
